Devoted, Determined, and (a little) Demented ...
This is kind of supposed to be a "villians" page, but, since I don't collect many cels of the Breeds themselves, it's kind of a "Caine" page by default. He is the only recurring, major villian in the show, after all.
Caine is a very old vampire. He was Shido's sire, and, for many years, his lover, as well. Caine is very controlling and has a narrow world view -- one which sees humans as nothing more than cattle and vampires at the top of the evolutionary chain. Eventually, Shido becomes disillusioned with Caine's world view, and this drives an insurmountable wedge between the two of them. Shido leaves Transylvania, thinking he will start fresh away from Caine. Unfortunately for Shido, Caine is not about to let things end that easily. He is very possessive of the things he loves, and he still considers Shido "his". He follows Shido around, constantly trying to persuade Shido to return to him.
Caine is pretty bad. He does plenty of "not nice" things -- both in his pre-anime past and during the course of the show. He is instrumental in ending Riho's life as a human and forcing Shido to convert her into a vampire to save her life. As Shido's sire, he is the only living creature who can remember Shido's life as a human, although he's not willing to openly share what he knows unless Shido agrees to return to him.
Collecting-wise, Caine has proven fairly elusive. For some reason, I have not run across many cels of him, although I'm thrilled with the ones I have. Needless to say, I'm not sure this particular section will grow all that much, especially considering Shido is much more of a collecting priority for me.
