Surely, Everything Will Be Okay ...
Sakura is one of those heroines that, really, just grabs your heart and runs away with it. No matter what she faces during her quest to collect all the Clow Cards -- and she faces a lot of scary and heart-breaking things -- she never gives up. Against odds that would make most of us seek shelter under the nearest sofa, Sakura soldiers bravely onward. Courageous, full of spunky good will, caring, kind, and cheerful, she embodies all the finest qualities most of us seek within ourselves. At least, I know I do. Unfortunately, unlike Sakura, I feel I often fall far short. I suppose this is why I love her, and why I love cheering her on. I know it's why it feels so darn good to see her overcome the odds and succeed.
One of the wonderful things about CCS is how Clamp made the Clow Cards actual characters in the story. It would have been easy to relegate them to the realm of "magical tools" and be done with it. After all, they are magical tools. But, during the course of the show, you find they are much, much more than that. The magical properties and abilities embodied in each card come to life, giving each Clow Card its own personality, wants, and, to a certain extent, desires. Some come to Sakura willingly ... others ... not so much. But, each one is a living, feeling character in its own right. This is just a small part of the genius that is Clamp.
