Flame of Recca - Hanken

I wasn't absolutely sure, at the time I bid on these, what they were. The auction picture was rather bad, so I couldn't tell if they were cels or sketches or what. But, from the auction descriptions, it seemed like they were some sort of hanken artwork. I totally fell in love with one of the auction images in this particular lot, so I tossed my hat into the ring.
And tossed. And tossed. And tossed some more. Uh, yeah ... that auto-extend feature on YJ is the devil! >.<
Anyhow, I was a bit worried after the auction ended at almost my "absolute maximum", not to mention that this particular lot ended up going for about twice as much as the other lots on auction at the same time.
Now that I have them in hand, though, I have to say I'm really, really happy with this win. I believe they are authentic hankens. So far, I've identified three of the five images used on different merchandise for the show. And, they have raised linework on the front of the cel, which, I've been told, is the surest way to determine if something is an hanken or not. So, the closest I can figure is that these are some sort of hanken line cels, perhaps made in preparation for the creation of the finished artwork. Either way, I am thrilled to have them, and consider them a very nice addition to my gallery. ^.^
