I know Dragonball or DBZ has the dubious honor of being most folks' "break-out" anime --- the show that got them watching anime and hooked on the whole incredible experience. But, it's not mine.
Still, Goku was the first anime character I truly fell in love with. I adore everything about the big lug, from his doofy, seemingly-innocent smile to the fighting rage he holds just beneath that harmless-looking exterior. His courage in facing any and every foe, even when everything seems totally hopeless, and the strength he has to believe in himself, no matter what the odds, continue to inspire me.
Needless to say, this section will probably remain very Goku-oriented. Although I love the DB/DBZ/DBGT universe, Goku is the only character I have any interest in, collecting-wise. What can I say? He's my first love ... and first loves don't die or fade away. They just become sweeter over time.
